A zoo in Copenhagen decided that a Giraffe named ‘Marius’ should be euthanized because they wanted to avoid inbreeding and he did not fit the genetic makeup they were looking for. The online community erupted in hopes of saving this young giraffe but all efforts unfortunately failed. The autopsy of the animal was done in front of a zoo audience and then the remains were fed to the zoo lions.
